Ban ki-moon literally stunned by the scenes in Pakistan.

 
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called the recent floods in Pakistan's largest natural disaster, which he had ever seen. UN has certified the scale of flood in the country. 

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Pakistan to assess the on-site damage from massive flooding. During his stay in Pakistan he will personally visit the most flood-affected areas.
Ban Ki-moon has already met with Pakistani President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yusuf Gilani, as well as representatives of the country's top military commanders and discussed with them ways to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to Pakistan. "I came to Pakistan so that we can as soon as possible to engage the international community to provide assistance to people affected by floods," - said Ban Ki-moon.
More than 300,000 people in Pakistan can become infected with cholera in the coming months, if doctors can not prevent the outbreak of the disease. These are the forecast data of the World Health Organization. At the moment there is only one confirmed case of cholera reported in the Swat Valley in north-west of the country.
However, according to doctors UN, aid the local population, there are serious fears that this is not an isolated case. "Thanks to the efforts of WHO to identify cases in early stages, we hope to prevent major outbreaks of cholera in the country" - said Mark Ward, Acting Head of Department to assist victims of disasters that have occurred abroad, U.S. Agency for International Development. He also added that under the conditions that is being created in Pakistan, almost impossible to avoid the spread of cholera infection which occurs primarily through contaminated water. Nevertheless, Ward expressed the view that the spread of the disease be able to keep under control.
The UN estimates that are already affected by floods Pakistan needs about $ 460 million. Since late July, a powerful monsoon rains swept Pakistan flooding, because of which have already died and went missing around 1600 people. In total, an estimated Pakistani authorities, floods have affected 20 million people, or one-ninth of the population of this South Asian nation.Currently, floods have moved from the north-west Pakistan to the southern parts of the country.Now submerged large areas in the provinces of Sindh and Baluchistan.Elements destroyed much of agriculture crops.
