Until late August, from France would be deported some 700 Roma. Police forces have destroyed 50 illegal settlements, whose residents have been placed in shelters. In total, planned to eliminate about 300 gypsies.
Today, 79 Roma, voluntarily consented to deportation from France, will receive 300 euros from the budget and will be sent to Romania. It is reported by BBC.
According to the French authorities, gypsies are a "source of human trafficking, the appalling living conditions, exploitation of children for begging, prostitution and crime." Representatives of the Foreign Ministry in response to charges the European Commission argued that the deportation of Roma does not violate the norms of freedom of movement.
Earlier on the behalf of French President Nicolas Sarkozy,the country has prepared a bill to ban wearings of veils.
The document was approved by the lower house of the French parliament.The penalty for wearing this piece of clothing in a public place would be 150 euros.
